1. Who we are

This website and invoice generator (the “Service”) is run by Scalo Creative Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17376618. 2. What the Service does

The Service lets you create invoices in your browser and save them as PDF files. The Classic design and all invoice content features are free. Extra designs (Modern, Minimal, Studio, Executive and Bold), more brand colours, saved clients and invoice history are part of our paid Pro plans.

3. Pro plans and licence keys

• Single invoice: one Pro invoice credit, for one invoice. You can fix wording and details and download the same invoice again for free. Adding or changing items, a different client, total, currency or invoice number needs a new credit.
• Monthly: Pro features for 30 days from the day you enter your key, including saved clients and invoice history.

Payments are handled by a third-party payment provider. You will see the final price, including any taxes, at checkout. After payment we email you a licence key, which you enter on the site. Keys are for the person who bought them: please do not share or resell them. Your Pro status and credits are stored in your browser, so clearing your browser data can remove them. If that happens, email us with your purchase email and we will help you restore access. The monthly plan renews each month until you cancel it; see the Refund Policy for how to cancel.

4. Your invoices

You are responsible for what you put in your invoices and for making sure they are accurate and meet any legal, tax or accounting rules that apply to you. The Service does not give legal, tax or accounting advice. Please check every invoice before you send it.

5. Your data

Your invoice details stay in your browser. See our Privacy Policy for what we do collect.

6. Acceptable use

Please do not use the Service for anything unlawful, to create false or misleading invoices, to try to get around our licence checks, or to disrupt the Service.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service running, but it is provided “as is” and we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change features or prices from time to time. A change will not affect a plan you have already paid for.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss caused by mistakes in invoices you create, and our total liability to you for anything connected with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. If you are a consumer, your legal rights are not affected.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.

Privacy Policy

Scalo Creative Ltd (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for the Service. This page explains what personal data we handle and why. Contact: hello@scalocreative.com.

1. Your invoices stay in your browser

The business details, client details, line items and notes you type into the invoice generator are kept in your own browser (local storage) on your own device. We do not receive them or store them on our servers. You can remove them at any time with the Reset buttons or by clearing the site data in your browser.

2. What we do receive

• Ratings and feedback you choose to send. This is your star rating, an optional comment, whether you use the free or Pro version, which design you were using, and whether your device is mobile or desktop. It is saved in a Google Sheet that only we can open. Please do not put personal details in the comment. We use it to improve the Service (our legitimate interest, and your choice to send it).
• Purchases. Payments are taken by our payment provider, which collects your payment details, name, email and country. We never see your card details. We receive the order details we need to email you your licence key and to keep our accounts. When you enter a licence key, it is sent to a small checking service we run on Google Apps Script, which asks our payment provider whether the key is valid. We use a random device code (not your name or email) for this check. We keep accounting records for as long as the law requires (currently up to 6 years in the UK).
• Download counts. When you download an invoice, the tool sends us a simple count: whether the design was free or Pro, which design, and whether your device is mobile or desktop. It contains nothing you typed into the invoice, and no name, email address or ID. It is saved in a Google Sheet that only we can open.
• Emails you send us. We keep them so we can answer you and help with any later question.
• Technical data. Our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address when you visit, so the site can be delivered and kept secure.
• Fonts. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads.

3. What is stored in your browser

We use your browser’s local storage to remember your invoice draft and settings, your Pro plan and credits, saved clients and invoice history (Pro), your theme choice and whether you have already rated the tool. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics tools. The download count described above is the only usage measurement we make. If that changes, we will update this page.

4. Who we share data with

Only the services that help us run the Service: our payment provider, Google (Google Sheets for ratings, Google Apps Script for licence checks, and Google Fonts) and our hosting provider. We do not sell your data. These providers may process data outside the UK, and rely on appropriate safeguards under their own terms.

5. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Email hello@scalocreative.com and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

6. Children

The Service is meant for people running a business or freelancing, and is not aimed at children.

7. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.

Refund Policy

We want you to be happy with Pro. If it is not for you, here is how refunds work.

Single invoice

You can get a full refund if you ask within 7 days of buying and you have not yet used the credit to download a Pro invoice.

Monthly

You can get a full refund if you ask within 7 days of buying and you have not downloaded a Pro invoice since you entered your key.

Cancelling the monthly plan

You can cancel at any time, and you will not be charged again once you cancel. To do it yourself: open the customer portal, enter the email address you used to buy, and click the sign-in link we send you (your payment provider also includes a portal link in each payment email). Choose your subscription, then Manage Subscription and Cancel Subscription. If you would rather we do it, email hello@scalocreative.com from the same address and we will cancel it within 3 business days.

After you have used Pro

Because Pro is digital content that you can use straight away, we cannot refund credits that have been used or time that has been used, unless the law says we must, or the Service is faulty and we cannot fix it for you. If something is not working, please email us first and we will put it right or refund you.

Your legal rights

This policy does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

How to ask for a refund

Email hello@scalocreative.com with the email address you used to buy and, if you have it, your order number. Refunds go back to your original payment method and usually arrive within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

Problems with your key

If your key did not arrive, or it does not work, email us and we will send a new one.
